Sports Awards June 2014

On the 17th June the 'Sports Awards', organised by Mr. Kelly, were held in the school hall. We were delighted to have Hayley Nolan and Laura Cusack at our prizegiving. Laura spoke at the beginning of the awards ceremony and she told the children how lucky they were to have such a variety of sports available to them in school. Hayley had the onerous task of presenting 54 awards to children!

Laura Cusack works for the FAI developing soccer in Kildare. She organises the schools competitions. She is also assistant coach with the women's Under 19s team.

Hayley Nolan is from Naas and she plays soccer for Peamount United in Dublin. She has 5 caps for the  Republic of Ireland Under 17 women’s soccer team and has 3 caps for the Under 19 women’s team – the Irish team have qualified for the Under 19 European Championship which takes place in July.  She plays in both defence and midfield in soccer.
