We were lucky to have a visit by an artist to our school this week. He came to do some plasterwork with sixth class. He could only take thirty students at a time.

We were given some clay and had to mould the clay. When the clay was ready we had to flatten it and make a picture or pattern in the clay with ice-pop sticks, cutting tools and we could also use pine cones, shells, a mini doll’s head and a toothbrush!

When our clay pictures were ready we got some wooden pieces and surrounded our pictures so that the picture looked as if it was fenced off.

We each got a bag of dry plaster of Paris, added water to it and poured it on top of our picture. It hardened in ten minutes. We were delighted with the results. We hope you like our plasterworks.

6th class.
