Nuala Visits Again

Science in Sallins School

We were very lucky to have Nuala Madigan, our local heritage expert, visit our school again this year.

This year the junior infant classes went mini-beast hunting in the school garden and constructed ladybird hotels. See the children in action below...
********

********
Our senior infant classes enjoyed identifying, categorising and illustrating garden birds.
See them at work.
********

********
Our first classes studied the local trees. They also made leaf rubbings. See how they turned out.
********

Guzzler investigated energy with second class. Check out the SEAI website for more information on Guzzler and sustainable energy.

Third class investigated creepy crawlies that live above ground and underwater. Sometimes they are called MINI-BEASTS!!!

Fourth class studied the canal habitat and were enthralled by the colours of autumn.

Fifth classes investigated the different layers of a bog.
