Sallins in Autumn
The pupils of St Laurence's were very lucky to have the knowledge and expertise of Nuala Madigan from the IPCC with them during the last week of September and first week of October
The junior infants helped to furnish the bug hotel. Senior infants got to walk in the garden looking for mini beasts. First class took to the garden to identify the trees in the garden, with the help of a leaf swatch. Second class helped the worms settle in to their wormery. Third class got to visit the garden and search for different invertebrates. The children had to remember to put any bugs back in their own habitat. Fourth class got to explore autumnal colour along the canal. Fifth class identified invertebrates and built a bog in a bottle. Sixth class were lucky enough to spend the day in the bog in Lullymore and were kept very busy there.
