Under 14 FÉILE TEAM

Past Pupils; Eoin and Josh visited the school on Thursday 18th June, bringing with them the County trophy for Kildare Féile, Division 2. The two lads along with thirteen of our current 5th and 6th class pupils travelled to Monaghan on Friday 18th May to represent Sallins and Kildare in the All-Ireland Féile na nGael competition. A brilliant effort over the three days brought them to the shield final, narrowly missing out on silverware.
Well Done to all of our pupils involved, past and present, and indeed to Sallins GAA.
Comhgairdeas!!

U13 Boys Gaelic Football
Our under 13 boys' Gaelic Football team won the Kildare Division 2 title in Moorefield GAA on Wednesday 27th May.  Playing against Kilcock Boys' School, they won on a scoreline of 3-6 to 0-5.  Leading by 1-3 to 0-2 at half-time, some great defending in the second half stopped Kilcock scoring any goals. This is the first time in 10 years that Sallins have won this title!
Well Done Lads!

Superb Start to the Spring Leagues!!
After a successful autumn for Gaelic Games in St. Laurence’s N.S., which reaped three trophies, the boys and girls playing both codes were raring to go when they returned from the Easter break.

The Cumann na mBunscol Spring Leagues kicked off in earnest last Monday 13 th April 2015.
The Under 13 Camogie Team had a home match against South Kildare school, Nurney, and they set the standard for others to follow with a well earned win. The girls have been training hard every week since the beginning of spring and it paid off for them on Monday as they start the League in best possible way. Well done to all involved!!

On Tuesday, the Boys Under 13 Football Team travelled to Kill. They started the match with pace and intent and they gave a great performance to get the win over their local rivals with a few points to spare. Great win Lads!

********

This was followed on Wednesday with a home game for the Under 13 Girls Footballers against Rathmore. A great start saw the Sallins girls take control and they never looked back, making a winning start to the league! Maith sibh cailíní!

********

Thursday was a busy day, as the Under 13 Hurlers got the bus to Kill GAA Club to take on near neighbours Scoil Bhríde, Kill. Three points and a goal early in the first half set the lads up and they pushed on throughout the game to get a deserved away win. Well Done Boys!

********

The Girls Under 13 Football Team was out again on Friday. They made the long trip to Rathangan and played very well, putting up a great score and returning to school with their second and the school’s sixth win of the week!!
Maith sibh arís!!

********

However the win of the week has to go to the Under 10 Boys Footballers who, playing in Division 1, hosted Maynooth B.N.S. Two great goals in the second half ensured victory for Sallins. The squad is made up of players from our 3 rd and 4 th classes and all bar a handful of the squad played for the school for the first time on Thursday, and to win their first game at this level is a huge achievement! They’ve done their school proud!

Comhgairdeas lads! Well Done!
