The Grand Finale!
Leaving Primary School!
June 2013

Next Stop: Secondary School!

This is our final time to cook together this year. The members of the Friday Cookery Group 2012-2013 are moving on the srcondary school. Today we are making Cones and Smoothies! To make the cones we are following the recipe that comes with the Waffle Cone Maker! For the Smoothies we are following the recipies in our book: Kids in the Kitchen! by: Brenda Apsley. 2007 Bookmart Limited.

For the Waffle Cones:

250g sugar
125g melted butter/margarine
2 eggs
250mls warm water
250g plain flour

Method:

While whisking together the sugar and the eggs gradually add in the warm water and the melted butter. Stir in the flour and whisk the mixture to remove any lumps! That's it!
Now pour 3 tablespoons of batter onto the hot waffle cone maker. Close the machine and wait 3 minutes for the waffle to cook!
Remove the circlular waffle and carefully wrap it round the cone shaper! Use a soft cloth to protect your fingers! The waffle is hot! This needs to be done quickly as the waffle will become crisp as it cools.

Banana & Apple Smoothie:

1 Banana
150g Plain Yoghurt
2tsp Honey
60ml Apple Juice
Lemon Slice to decorate

Strawberry Smoothie:

Chopped Strawberries
200ml Cranberry Juice
150g Yoghurt

Happy Summer Holidays!

Thank you for visiting our Cooking Pages this year and trying out the recipies with us.
